InterHigh Case Studies
I joined Interhigh when I was 11, I am now 15. I found going to Comprehensive school too difficult, too large and too many people. My mum found Interhigh and I had a trial few days at the school. It was brilliant. I was at home but I logged into a class with other pupils and the teacher, when I joined there were only a few people at the school.
I felt safe and comfortable learning at home.
The teachers are just great, unlike mainstream school they have plenty of time to give you individual help with your classwork and homework. They are kind and understanding and never make you feel stupid. In Comprehensive you sometimes don’t want to ask a question or even answer a question in case you get it wrong and feel stupid in front of your mates. In Interhigh if you are shy or concerned you can private text the teacher with a question or answer.
You soon realise that the fellow students in your class don’t think your daft if you ask a silly question or if you get an answer wrong, after all they can’t even see you!
What I really like at school is that we study a lesson per day and not five in one day! It gives you a chance to really concentrate on the lesson, in Comprehensive by time you have settled into the lesson and written a few notes you are packing up your bags and going to the next class.
Doing one lesson per day means you have two solid hours of each subject so you get time to really get into the subject. The fact the school class numbers are lower means the teacher has time to ask us all questions and has time to help us if we are stuck on something.
We also have the opportunity to private text our mates in the classroom too. I have made lots of friends in school online, it is a shame I cannot get to meet them in person on a regular basis as I do my other friends but to learn this way is a much better way of learning for me and my sister who joined me instead of going to Comprehensive. She loves the school also and would not want to be taught any other way.
If you are thinking of joining Interhigh it will be the best school you have ever attended!
